GROUPE-ACCES is the First Carrier to Enable Wireless High Speed Internet Access to the Remote Areas of Morin Heights.

Montreal, August 5, 2008 – GROUPE-ACCES communications (GAC), today announced that it is the first Internet service provider to offer wireless high-speed Internet access in Morin Heights with speeds of 0.5Mbps to 3Mbps. GAC is aggressively expanding its high-speed wireless network that already serves local businesses and residents in over sixty (60) areas in the Laurentians. New areas are opening every month and faster speeds will be available later this year.

By not having "last mile" access barriers to overcome, GAC is able to offer Internet service to areas not serviced by traditional providers and is opening the Internet gates to thousands of new users.

In addition to its point-to-multi-point microwave service, GAC has added WiFi access as well as Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) services in some areas. The new WiFi and DSL service offerings extend the growing GAC network and help empower people to connect effortlessly to their workplace and to those who matter most. Later this summer GAC will be also be offering its own Internet telephony service to enhance the current bundle of connectivity options.
